Hingol National Park Jaunt
Karachi, 20December:NCC organized a one day exposure visit for Karachi-based professionals to Hingol National Park (HNP) on 20December 2016.HNPpark is located at the distance of 220 kilometres from Karachi and took around 3 and half hours to reach there. The visit was participated in by 32 people coming from different professions which included doctors, engineers, airline pilots and other technical personnel.
The participants spentan entire day at Hingol National Park andhiked onthe world largest active Mud Volcano called ChandarGupt, observed crocodiles in the Mighty Hingol River, watched Ibexes climbing on the mountains, seen a rear mountain formation, visited the holiest Hindu shrine of Hinglaj Devi (NaniMandar), trekked through Hinglaj stream trekking trail, visited statue of the “Princess of Hope” and had leisure on the KundMalir beach.
Briefing about ecotourism potential of the site, Naveed Ali SoomroChief Executive, NCC said that HNP has a long set of attraction points which could prove adventure, recreation and educative exposure tothe people coming from different walks of life. HNP harbours a rich biodiversity and has a unique landscape. He was of the view that there is a dire need of initiating community-based ecotourism at such points where local people could be trained as guides and could generate income through different activities.
